![]() ![]() “Inside her head, she thought about where certain letters would go. ‘Oh no.’ thought Odette, as she dragged herself to the microphone. “Our next contestant will be Odette Miller!” exclaimed Starr. Her parents were forced to get on the stage and drag her off as she had a temper tantrum. Starr hesitated before saying “Incorrect.” “No, gimme another chance!” screamed Lilly. “Crystallographer, C-R-Y-S-T-A-L-O-G-R-A-P-H-E-R, crystallographer?” grunted Lilly. “Please spell ‘crystallographer’.” ‘Ooh, what a tough one.’ thought Odette. A big girl with messy brown hair went up to the microphone. “Next we have, Lilly Patterson!” said Starr. Roger grinned as he sat down on his seat. M-N-E-M-O-N-I-C, mnemonic?” Starr took a short pause before saying “Correct!” The crowd broke into applause. She was sure she had gotten the right spelling when Roger said “Mnemonic. ![]() “‘Mnemonic’ thought Odette, as she tried to spell it in her head. A skinny boy with ginger hair nervously walked to the microphone. “Let’s spell! Please welcome our first contestant, Roger Williams!” shouted Starr. “Now the contestants have three minutes to spell the word and are not allowed to make even one mistake or they will be eliminated!” The audience went wild! “Shh, shh!” cried Starr. “Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Grand Final of the Starr’s Spelling Bee! Please welcome our lucky 15 children to the stage!” The curtain rose and the theme song played once again. She had a beautiful warm coloured dress and white shoes with huge heels. Miss Elizabeth Starr, the host walked to the stage. Behind the curtain were Odette and 14 other anxious children, waiting for it to rise. ![]() The theme music of Starr’s Spelling Bee played. ![]()
